Abstract: |
The ecological risk of soil heavy metals(As、Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni、Pb and Zn) along the riparian zone of Kerulen River was assessed by using the index of geoaccumulation and the potential ecological risk index proposed by Hakanson. Results indicated that the average concentrations of seven heavy metals including As、Cd、Cr、Cu、Ni、Pb and Zn were 117.71、266.7、0.64、2.07、2.12、5.38 and 55.95 times of the background values, with an order of Cd >As >Zn >Pb >Ni >Cu >Cr, indicating high accumulation of As, Cd, and Zn in the soils. The index of geoaccumulation was Cd >As> Zn> Pb> Cu> Ni> Cr, and the potential ecological risk index was Cd >As >Zn >Pb >Ni >Cu >Cr. The combination of the comprehensive pollution coefficient and the potential ecological risk coefficient showed that the studies area was at a higher pollution risk level, with the most pollution at Keerlun Su. Both As and Cd were the priority pollutants in the studies area. |
