Abstract: |
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) is beneficial soil fungi that coexist with most plants. The mycorrhizal system formed by AMF and plants plays an important role in improving plant heavy metal tolerance and strengthening phytoremediation of heavy metal pollution. To systematically examine the role of AMF in heavy metal-contaminated soil and its mechanism of enhancing plant tolerance, the application of AMF in plant growth and environmental management was reviewed and discussed, with emphasis on the effects of AMF on heavy metal remediation. The mechanisms of enhanced plant tolerance to heavy metals(growth dilution and limited absorption, antioxidant mechanism, chelating heavy metals mechanism, adsorption, and immobilization of heavy metals) were summarized to provide scientific and theoretical support for the application of AMF in heavy metal-contaminated environment. |
