Zhang Guilong, PhD in Agronomy, Researcher, PhD tutor. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Agronomy at Henan Agricultural University in 1999 and 2006, respectively, and Doctor’s Degree in Agronomy at the graduate school of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS) in 2009. During 1999 - 2003, he worked at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Xinyang, China on the crop breeding and field ecological regulation. From 2009- current, he worked at the Agro-Environmental Protection Institute, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China on soil carbon and nitrogen cycling and pollution prevention and control technology. He is the key expert of State Biodiversity and Eco-agriculture Innovation Team of China and the director of Branch of Tillage of China Association of Agricultural Science Societies (CAASS). He is the project host of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. He has published more than 40 papers in mainstream journals in the field of ecology, environment and soil and fertilizer.
Research interest:
He is a soil ecologist interested to observe biogeochemistry processes of soil C and N cycling. Currently, he focusses on the microbial mechanisms driving the soil C and N cycling, reveals the relationship between soil microorganisms, C and N cycling and soil health, and develops farmland soil health cultivation and pollution control technology.
